Our Lady of Guadalupe Procession

We are so blessed here in North Louisiana. When you look around our parishes, you see so many different faces and hear different languages, but we’re all looking toward the same altar. It’s a beautiful thing. Our Multicultural Ministries office works hard to make sure everyone feels at home in our diocese.

Being part of a universal church sounds like a big, academic concept, but it’s actually lived out in very simple, human ways. From the mom who finds a retreat in her native language where she can finally pour her heart out to God to the teenager who feels a surge of pride seeing his heritage honored during a feast day, these ministries make sure that nobody is left on the sidelines of our faith.

We see this in action through events like the Our Lady of Guadalupe procession. If you’ve ever been, you know the energy and the devotion is just incredible. We also have the Emmaus young adult retreats that help our younger generation find their footing in the Church. The Grand Sinulog Mass honors our Filipino brothers and sisters. These aren’t just “programs” on a calendar. They’re moments where people truly encounter Jesus through the traditions and languages that mean the most to them.

This work takes resources, and that’s where the Catholic Service Appeal comes in. When you give to the CSA, you’re helping to fund these retreats, the logistics for our big processions, and the staff who make sure our diverse communities are heard and cared for. It’s your way of helping us keep the doors wide open for everyone.

Your gifts to the Catholic Service Appeal help ministries like this continue serving our community. If you would like to be part of this mission, you can learn more or give here: https://www.dioshpt.org/service-appeals/
