“On the eve of Divine Mercy Sunday, Pope Leo XIV has invited the whole world to join him in a prayer vigil for peace this Saturday, April 11. I join my brother bishops in asking all the faithful in our diocese to unite with the Holy Father in this special intention. As we face reports of increased military threats in the Middle East, we urge leaders in the United States and Iran to choose the path of dialogue and negotiation to prevent further loss of life.
Whether you join us in prayer in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament, in your home, or in the quiet of your heart, let us turn to the Prince of Peace. We entrust to the Lord all who are suffering and ask that the peace of Christ, which we celebrate this Easter, might truly take root in our world.”
