Thinking of Priesthood Day of Reflection

On Saturday, February 24, 2007, the diocesan vocations office will host a dynamic day of reflection for those individuals considering the priesthood. Leading the reflections for the day will be Fr. Jonathan Fassero, OSB, a key member of the formation team at St. Meinrad School of Theology in southern Indiana where our diocese currently has two seminarians studying for ordination.

Fr. Jonathan has been our guest in the diocese before as his last program of this nature was held at St. Thomas Ruston several years ago. “I’m thrilled to be returning to North Louisiana to support your ongoing vocation ministry,” comments Fr. Fassero. “Both of the men from the Diocese of Shreveport, Matthew Long and Michael Petty are wonderful candidates for ordination and I am confident there are more men like them within your region and I certainly look forward to spending some time with them.”

This program is open to any interested individual between the ages of 15 to 55 and will take place at The Catholic Center, 3500 Fairfield Avenue in Shreveport. We will begin at the Catholic Center at 10:00 a.m. and a delicious lunch will be included as we progress through a wonderful day. As our own seminarians at St. Meinrad can attest, Fr. Jonathan has many helpful insights into understanding vocations to the priesthood and seminary life. He is also blessed with inspiring seminarian and clergy vocation stories and is skilled at answering general questions participants may have regarding a vocation call. The day will conclude with a Mass between 3:30 and 4:30 p.m.
