From the Director

The “Year for Priests,” during which Pope Benedict XVI declared St. John Vianney the patron saint of all priests, continues in a certain sense in the Diocese of Shreveport well into the fall of 2010. The reason is that we are blessed to have secured the “Vianney Drama,” a powerful dramatic presentation of Saint Luke Productions in two locations in November.
On Friday evening, November 12, the Office of Vocations will host the Vianney production at the Catholic Center, 3500 Fairfield in Shreveport. On Sunday, November 14, an identical performance will be offered at Saint Frederick High School in Monroe.
The Vianney Drama has been performed scores of times throughout the United States in this past year and before. The reviews and remarks by bishops have been overwhelmingly positive, with both youth and adults moved by the life of this holy priest, known also as “the Cure of Ars.”
Circle the date on your calendar to insure that you do not take on any potential conflict on the evenings of November 12 or 14.
May God make good use of this vehicle for spiritual advancement of all attendees as well as encourage young men and women who may in fact be called by Christ to serve him in a Church vocation.
Fr. David Richter, Director of Vocations
